Stock
Overview
Stock refers to the quantity of items maintained in inventory for sale, consumption, production, or operational use.
In Inaya, each stock item is configured with information that allows the system to determine:
Where the item is stored
How the item is measured
Where the item can be physically located
Whether quantity limits should be monitored
When stock should be replenished
Whether the item is consumable
Correct stock configuration provides the foundation for accurate inventory management, stock monitoring, stocktaking, transfers, and procurement.

Stock configuration consists of the following core components:

1. Allow Quantity Limits
Allow Quantity Limits determines whether Inaya should enforce minimum and maximum quantity limits for the stock item.
When enabled, Inaya monitors the item's available quantity against the configured Minimum Quantity and Maximum Quantity.
Enabled
When enabled:
Minimum and maximum quantities can be configured.
Stock levels are monitored against the configured limits.
Stock depletion notifications can be generated.
Inventory overflow notifications can be generated.
Disabled
When disabled:
Minimum and maximum quantity limits are not enforced.
Quantity-limit validation is not performed.
Stock depletion notifications related to the configured limits are not generated.
Inventory overflow notifications related to the configured limits are not generated.
2. Store
Store specifies the store or warehouse where the stock item belongs.
This allows organizations operating multiple stores or warehouses to manage inventory independently for each location.

Why Store Assignment Matters

3. Unit
Unit defines the standard unit of measurement used for the stock item.
The unit determines how quantities are recorded during activities such as:
Receiving
Issuing
Stocktaking
Transfers
Adjustments
Procurement

4. Minimum Quantity
Minimum Quantity defines the lowest recommended stock level for an item.
The default value is:
0
When quantity-limit monitoring is enabled, Inaya compares the available stock against the configured minimum quantity.
When stock falls below the configured threshold, Inaya can generate a:

5. Maximum Quantity
Maximum Quantity defines the highest recommended stock level for an item.
The default value is:
0
When quantity-limit monitoring is enabled, Inaya compares the available stock against the configured maximum quantity.
When stock exceeds the configured maximum, Inaya can generate an:
